Subject: 19766/TempClos/MakingStridesAgainstCancer Date: Thu, 10 Jan 1991 10:41:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 19766 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CERTAIN DOWNTOWN STREETS, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, ON SATURDAY, MAY 29, 1993, FOR "MAKING STRIDES AGAINST CANCER" RUN AND WALK SPONSORED BY RED FOOD STORES AND THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized the temporary closure of Georgia Avenue between M.L. King Boulevard and 10th Street, the southbound curb lane of Market Street between 10th Street and 20th Street, the westbound curb lane of 20th Street between Market Street and Riverfront Parkway, the northbound and eastbound curb lane of Riverfront Parkway between 20th Street and Chestnut Street, the southbound curb lane of Chestnut Street between Riverside Drive and 2nd Street, the eastbound curb lane of 2nd Street between Chestnut Street and Broad Street, the southbound curb lane of Broad Street between 2nd Street and M.L. King Boulevard, and the eastbound curb lane of M.L. King Boulevard between Broad Street and Georgia Avenue from 6:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, 1993 for "Making Strides Against Cancer" Run and Walk sponsored by the Red Food Stores and the American Cancer Society provided that the sponsors shall install and remove all barricades and traffic signs in accordance with the traffic control plan attached hereto and shall provide, at all times, an access lane for emergency vehicles.
